Week of October 8, 2026 | John 11:25

The Scripture

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”

John 11:25, ESV

Martha met Jesus on the road with a true sentence: if He had been there, her brother would not have died. Jesus did not argue with the grave. He named Himself.

Apply it to life

This verse is not only for funerals. It is for an ordinary week.

At work. The job that feels dead-ended is not the final word on you. Do the work in front of you well, as someone who already belongs to the One who walked out of the tomb.

On errands. The checkout line, the gas pump, the pharmacy counter. These are not wasted minutes. The people standing next to you are people He came to raise. Look them in the eye.

In conversations. When someone talks like it is over, the marriage, the diagnosis, the habit, do not argue with them and do not give a speech. Name Him, the way He named Himself to Martha.

One practice for this week: when something in your day feels finished, say the sentence under your breath. I am the resurrection and the life. Then act like it is true.

Wear it. Say it.

The I Am the Resurrection line carries John 11:25 on tees, a hoodie, a crewneck, and an embroidered shirt. Put the sentence where people can read it.
